What Is Crohn's Disease?
Crohn's disease is IBD that may occur in any part of the colon. Crohn's disease has three types:
- Ileitis – affects the ileum or the lower part of the small intestine.
- Crohn's colitis – affects the colon.
- Ileocolitis – affects both the colon and ileum.
Crohn's symptoms include:
- Diarrhea which may sometimes be bloody
- Stomach pain
- Weight loss
- Fever
- Dehydration
How Is Crohn's Disease Diagnosed?
Crohn's disease diagnosis include:
- Physical exam
- Laboratory tests
- Intestinal endoscopy
- Upper GI series
- Computer tomography (CT) scan
