Inpatient rehabilitation at Abrazo Health provides intensive, coordinated care designed to help patients regain function, independence, and confidence before returning home. 

The Abrazo Health Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital is a 24-bed facility designed to support patients as they work toward restoring function and independence before returning home.

The facility is located in the Palm Valley Shopping Center, adjacent to Abrazo West Campus, allowing for a smooth transition from acute care to rehabilitation. The inpatient rehabilitation hospital was purpose-built to support recovery and continuity of care, offering:

  • Large private care rooms 
  • A hospital-based rehabilitation setting 
  • Family and visitors welcome 
  • Proper coordination between acute hospital care and rehabilitation services 

Conditions We Treat 

Our inpatient rehabilitation services support recovery from complex conditions, including: 

  • Stroke and brain injury 
  • Neurologic conditions 
  • Trauma 
  • Spine and spinal cord injury 
  • Orthopedic injury 
  • Cardiovascular recovery 
  • Additional recovery needs requiring intensive therapy 

What to Expect 

Patients admitted to inpatient rehabilitation receive coordinated care in a hospital setting with continuous medical oversight. Care plans are individualized and may include: 

  • 24/7 medical supervision 
  • Daily physician visits 
  • Physical therapy 
  • Occupational therapy 
  • Speech-language pathology 
  • Specialty-trained rehabilitation therapists 
  • Medical, surgical and subspecialty consultations as needed 
  • Therapy is typically provided at an intensive level of at least three hours per day, five days per week, based on patient needs and tolerance

Our experienced and compassionate speech therapists can perform various techniques and activities to provide treatment and support for verbal, nonverbal and social communication.

Beyond Therapy

We’re here to help keep you healthy for years to come. Our adult and geriatric fitness and wellness program is a comprehensive exercise program geared toward older adults who want to begin or maintain a fitness program. You will receive an initial evaluation and ongoing assessments by healthcare professionals familiar with the aging process and injury prevention.

As part of our program, we hold educational community lectures on topics such as preventing falls, healthy cooking and exercise for diabetics. In addition, we offer rotating exercise classes designed to help you live a more active life.
