About Lige Kaplan
Dr Kaplans focus is on the restoration of patient function and elimination of pain through advanced surgical techniques. His goal is to help you return to your normal lifestyle without limitations. Dr. Kaplan is an experienced, board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of arthritic conditions of the hip and knee including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, post traumatic arthritis and avascular necrosis. He uses advanced techniques including MAKO Robotics and the Direct Superior Approach to allow patients to recover faster and with better outcomes.
Dr. Kaplan is currently the Chairman of Orthopedics at Abrazo Scottsdale Campus. He has presented research throughout the country and authored several scientific peer-reviewed articles.
He enjoys skiing, vintage jeep restoration and home improvement.

Everything was excellent. There was actually no delay, so I still answered very good, and my wait time in the clinic was very short I was in and out after being seen by Dr. Kaplan and reviewing my x-rays and the condition of my knee went rather quickly. I was back on the road in no time going back to work! The process for doing the pre-enrolling on the system makes it very nice because you have all of the questions answered prior to your appointment. That is much appreciated so basically I had an excellent experience. I would go back and visit just for the heck of it, but I know time is valuable and I'm sure they don't want me hanging around visiting if I'm not needing to be taken care of in a medical manner! My appointment with Dr. Kaplan was for a second opinion regarding a knee replacement that was secheduled at Cleveland Clinic in June. After talking with Dr. Kaplan, however, I was convinced that his procedure and doing it ASAP (2/20/25), would allow me to go back to Ohio in April, well on the mend and ready for a more active year. My husband and I both felt like Dr. Kaplan was the right man for my surgery.

Dr. Lige Kaplan is an incredibly skillful doctor!!! He was very generous with his time in first, explaining the hip operation to me and my husband, and then again in the follow up visit. He answered all of our questions and didn't make us feel that we were just part of an assembly line of patients. The operation itself was a huge success thanks to his expertise. None of our friends could believe that I was up and walking about in a matter of days. I feel very fortunate to have found him and will always recommend him to anyone needing a hip or knee replacement. Dr. Kaplan Is the absolute best at what he does!!

I could not say enough about the superb care Dr. Kaplan gave to myself and my grandson . My son had just went to heaven , I could not deal w emotional and the physical pain of my hip . While we where there in the office my grandson said my daddy is here it was true , my son never left my side during surgery of my hip replacement my son opened a part of my brain to see and hear him. I told Dr. Kaplan he didn't shrug me off like it didn't happen " like most", he sincerely cared for my grandson and my pain of loosing my son. He said my hip was in really bad shape when he removed it , now absolutely no pain in that area . I am so thankful to have a dr like Dr. Kaplan . The nurses in recovery where angels . They said I spoke to my son the entire time and when I completely woke they asked if I remember anything and I said absolutely, it was magical . This entire experience gave me hope and faith that our loved ones are still w us . Now I am on the path of recovery of my new hip and the loss of my baby boy . thank you for all that was involved in my hip replacement .

All around it was a good experience. It was my first appointment with the clinic. Dr. Kaplan was very kind and informative. He gave great directive. I would definitely see him again if the need arises.
