Dr. Kelly Shortridge is a board-certified general surgeon and fellowship-trained bariatric/foregut surgeon. He subspecializes in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic bariatric and foregut procedures. I am fairly new to the area and have some complex medical issues and it is difficult to find a doctor who treats me with respect and acknowledges that I am well educated in regards to my medical issues and talks with me instead of at me if that makes sense. I know that I'm not a doctor and do not act as if I'm the smartest person in the room. It's just nice to feel as if the doctor I'm seeing is hearing what I have to say. I was very impressed that I started out in the GI clinic the day prior and was quite ill while waiting for my appt. A manager came out to ask if she could help me. I said no. However while talking with her she felt I would best be served by seeing the bariology Dr across the hall in suite 300b. I walked over there and received a next day appt. I was very impressed that anyone in medicine really cared about my real needs! I loved the attention and concern I received by Dr Terry and the prompt resolution from him in a timely manner for xrays and an EGD to be performed within 2 weeks! I have been in pain for months and was not taken seriously by prior physician's. I am releaved!
