About Timothy Ratliff
A Glendale, AZ native and a graduate of the University of Arizona with a degree in Microbiology, Dr. Ratliff attended Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale Arizona, earning his medical degree in 2015. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO in 2018 where he was Chief Resident, and completed a fellowship in sports medicine at University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas where he provided medical care to Division 1 SEC Athletes. Dr. Ratliff is Board Certified in Family Medicine and holds a specialty certificate of added qualifications in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Ratliff has always had a passion for sports medicine. His professional interests include comprehensive sports medicine care including muscle, tendon, bone, joint, and overuse injuries for patients of all ages, diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound-guided injections, Regenerative Medicine including Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and stem cell injections, percutaneous tenotomy (TENEX), fracture care with casting and splinting, sports concussion and return to play protocol, and team and event coverage.

Dr Ratliff used an ultrasound to do an injection in my elbow he truly suggested against it but knew that I had lots of pain and had been doing therapy to make it better and it just wasn't working. I was very pleasantly surprised at this office, having been to other providers where the staff were not friendly and the overall atmosphere made you feel like just a number. I was impressed at the amount of x-rays taken to diagnose my knees, how friendly and concerned the techs were, how friendly the front office staff were, but most of all how thorough, knowledgeable, understanding the doc and his MA were in soothing my fears, diagnosing my issue and presenting a possible plan/options. He took his time, listened, explained, and set out a plan so I can have relief from a 7 month issue. I felt confident with his expertise.

He shared the imaging and went into a full in depth of why I am feeling the way I am and also provided me with a multitude of options for treatment. Not only did he suggest that direction but was very supportive when I explained to him that that was the direction I would go initially.

Dr. Ratliff has always been very informative and doesn't promise things that he can't deliver on. He does offer alternatives to surgery in some cases though which is helpful. He has done PRP on me several times for a tear in a tendon that the surgeon did not want to attempt to fix.I still have the tears however, I don't have as much pain as I used to in that area.
