Samuel Kim, MD

Samuel C. Kim, MD is a Board Certified neurosurgeon who has been in practice since 2003. He joins Western Neuro from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City where he was an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery and Site Chief of Neurological Surgery at New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital. Dr. Kim specializes in complex spine surgery and the treatment of brain tumors and neurovascular disorders. His areas of expertise include minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS spine surgery), degenerative spine disease, spine tumors, and spinal trauma. Dr. Kim works very closely with Pain Management Physicians, Neurologists, Neuroradiologists and other clinical subspecialists to deliver comprehensive methods of treatment that are tailored to each patient's specific condition. He approaches every patient with each unique individual's needs in mind. This desire stems from having dealt with severe medical illness in his own family, giving him the ability to naturally and genuinely empathize with his patients. Dr. Kim strives to build relationships with his patients on both a personal and clinical level. In his spare time, Dr. Kim enjoys playing tennis (he played collegiately), as well as golf and ice hockey. Dr. Kim also enjoys studying foreign languages and speaks fluent Russian, Korean, and French.
