GLENDALE — Players from Phoenix Rising Football Club spent the afternoon visiting families and newborn patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and The Nest women's services unit at Abrazo Arrowhead Campus, bringing encouragement and smiles to families navigating some of life's most challenging moments. 

"We know that encouragement can make a difference when people are facing difficult circumstances," said Conrad Ambursley, Forward, Phoenix Rising Football Club. "Meeting these families and seeing the dedication of the NICU team was inspiring. We were honored to spend time with them and hopefully bring a few smiles along the way." 

The Sept. 16 visit highlights the partnership between Phoenix Rising Football Club and Abrazo Health and their shared commitment to community health and well-being. The players, in their uniforms, surprised the patients, families and fans who stood in line to get photos of their babies with the players. 

"It was such a pleasant surprise. It was just another day in the NICU until they showed up and paid attention to my little baby. She’s only three weeks old and was the star of the show and the athletes could recognize the little fighter in her, so we will remember this highlight forever in our NICU experience," said Mollie Beyer, whose baby is receiving care in the NICU.

"It was a privilege to meet the parents and caregivers today," said Jean-Éric Moursou, Midfielder, Phoenix Rising Football Club. "The strength these families show every day is remarkable. We are grateful for the opportunity to support them and recognize the healthcare professionals who care for these newborns around the clock."
