Abrazo Health Chief Nursing Officer Named to 2027 Go Red for Women Executive Leadership Team
PHOENIX – Abrazo Health is proud to announce that Jackie Malamitsas, Chief Nursing Officer for Abrazo Central Campus, has been selected to serve on the 2027 Go Red for Women Executive Leadership Team, a volunteer group supporting the American Heart Association's mission to improve cardiovascular health and save lives.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, Malamitsas will work with other community and business leaders to advance awareness of heart disease and stroke, support health equity initiatives, and champion the Go Red for Women movement throughout the Greater Phoenix area.

The American Heart Association (AHA) says that back in 2004, it realized cardiovascular disease was claiming the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year, yet women were not paying attention.
So, the AHA set out to dispel the myths and raise awareness of heart disease and stroke as the number one killer of women by creating Go Red for Women – a passionate, emotional, social initiative designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health.
"Heart health impacts every family and every community," said Jackie Malamitsas, RN, Chief Nursing Officer, Abrazo Central Campus. "I am honored to serve on the Go Red for Women team and help raise awareness about cardiovascular health and hopefully touch and reach as many women as possible with these life-saving messages that can change lives for women and their families across Arizona."
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death among women, according to the AHA. This makes education, prevention, and advocacy critical components of improving health outcomes for women and core components of Go Red for Women.
