Abrazo Health Celebrates American Heart Month with Wear Red Day
PHOENIX — Abrazo Health is proud to recognize American Heart Month with Wear Red Day Friday, Feb. 6, joining communities nationwide in wearing the color red and raising awareness about heart disease—the leading cause of death for women according to the American Heart Association.

To mark the occasion, Abrazo Health invites the community to wear red and take part in its premier Go Red for Women® Red Couch Tour, sponsored by Abrazo Health in partnership with the American Heart Association. The tour kicks off at Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital, Fri. Jan. 6 in the lobby at 7:30 a.m. on the red couch.
The tour creates a welcoming space for women to sit down, share their personal stories, and spark meaningful conversations about heart health, prevention, and early detection.
“Through the Red Couch Tour, we’re creating a safe space for women to be seen, heard, and empowered to take control of their heart health,” said Kimberly Blaha, President of Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital. “When women stand together, we can create lasting change and shape a healthier future for generations to come.”
According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease claims the lives of 1 in 3 women, and nearly 45% of women over age 20 are living with some form of cardiovascular disease. Wear Red Day serves as a powerful reminder that heart disease doesn’t discriminate by age—and that awareness, education, and action can save lives.
“I’m encouraging all women to participate in this tour and make bold moves today for a healthier tomorrow. Come be part of the conversation—join this special team of women, because your story has the power to raise awareness, inspire action, and potentially save a life,” says Maedeh Kholghi, DO, Biltmore Cardiology.
