The da Vinci XI system has become a mainstay in minimally invasive surgery and allows doctors to operate through a few small incisions, leading to reduced pain, shorter hospital stays, less blood loss, and faster recovery times for patients.

"The da Vinci XI highlights our commitment to utilizing advanced technology and tools to provide the highest level of care to our community. Our patients have access to state-of-the-art care with the potential for better outcomes and a quicker return to their daily lives,” says Abrazo Central Campus CEO Gregory Pearson.

Key features of the da Vinci XI surgical system:

  • 3D High-Definition Vision: The system provides surgeons with a highly magnified, high-definition 3D view of the surgical field, providing superior visualization and depth perception.
  • Enhanced Dexterity and Control: Its wristed instruments bend and rotate far beyond the capability of the human hand. The system also includes advanced tremor-filtration technology, allowing for precise, controlled movements.
  • Multi-Quadrant Access: The system's overhead instrument arm architecture is designed to facilitate access to anatomical areas across all four quadrants of the abdomen and chest without the need to reposition the patient.

The da Vinci XI can be used in a wide variety of surgical specialties, including general surgery, urology, gynecology, and thoracic procedures. Surgeons who operate and work with the robot undergo extensive, specialized training to master the robotic platform.

"Our focus is always on patient care. The addition of this robot helps us to accommodate the growing number of surgeons who want to be part of the Abrazo family and meet the growing surgical needs in the community. The da Vinci XI reinforces the Abrazo Central mission to invest in our community by providing exceptional healthcare and remaining at the forefront of surgical innovation,” says Dr. Varun Chakravorty, Chief of Staff, Abrazo Central Hospital.
