Emergency Nurses Association Honors Buckeye with the Prestigious Lantern Award


Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Center has been awarded by the Emergency Nurses Association as a 2024 Lantern Award recipient. The Buckeye emergency department is one of only 94 emergency departments across the United States that met the award criteria. 

Lantern Award designation signifies that the Buckeye Emergency Center team demonstrates exceptional and innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research.

Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Center is a 14-bed freestanding emergency department that serves nearly 30,000 patients per year in southwest Arizona. Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Center employs evidence-based practices that empowers nurses to contribute to decision-making processes and take the lead on quality improvement initiatives. Through their work, Buckeye emergency nurses have made an impact on improved door to CT times for stroke patients, a reduction in falls and improved medication safety administration, among other initiatives.
