About Coronavirus – COVID 19

Covid Safety standards allow visitors for ER, elective procedure patients

Effective May 13, visitation policy will allow one designated visitor to accompany patients having a scheduled elective procedure or one designated visitor per patient in the Emergency Department.

Visitors will be screened for fever, respiratory symptoms or travel to high risk locations prior to entering the hospital, and required to wear visitor identification, a facemask and sanitize their hands. Designated waiting areas allow physical distancing for designated visitors.

Any visitor not meeting screening criteria will not be permitted to enter the hospital. Previous hospital visitation restrictions remain in place, allowing one visitor only for childbirth or end-of-life patients. All staff, physicians, patients and visitors are screened for COVID-19 symptoms before entering the hospital.

The Abrazo Covid Safety standards will offer peace of mind to patients and their loved ones receiving elective surgery or emergency care. Expanded visitation comes shortly after Abrazo resumed elective care with extensive safety measures in place.

We’re here for you, your family and our community.

Abrazo Health works closely with the Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to respond to any potential novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in our area. As the COVID-19 situation evolves, we take every precaution to keep you, your family, our staff and our community safe.

Our COVID SAFE Standards

COVID SAFE standards are built upon deep clinical expertise from previous crises and on-going management of COVID-19, as well as continuous incorporation of CDC, CMS and State recommendations. They are a rigorous combination of infection prevention processes, training, testing, personal protective equipment and technology. Our COVID SAFE standards includes six components:
  • Distinct COVID SAFE and COVID CARE Zones – separate areas with clear signage and protocols
  • Rigorous Physician and Staff Protocols – daily screening, universal masking and access to PPE
  • Heightened Sanitization – enhanced cleaning of surfaces and plenty of hand sanitization stations
  • Access to COVID-19 Testing – in-house, rapid testing for patients, physician and staff who require it
  • Precautions for Patients and Visitors – provision of face masks, hand sanitizer and physical distancing
  • Enhanced Virtual Access – virtual care, remote monitoring and connectivity with loved ones

Additional Precautions

  • All outside groups and other events are canceled until further notice.
  • Entry into care sites is being limited. Anyone who enters will be screened carefully and requested to sanitize their hands.
  • Valet services are currently closed.
Protocols continue to adapt in real-time to follow federal and local health agency guidelines.
