Abrazo hospitals celebrate 'Community Built on Heroes'

Nov 19, 2021

PHOENIX – Abrazo Health thanked its employees, providers and local first responders for going above and beyond during the pandemic by designating Wednesday, Nov. 17, as a day to recognize our “Community Built on Heroes” at Abrazo hospitals.

Abrazo employee serving first respondersAbrazo hospitals held Health Care Heroes events to show gratitude and thanks for the sacrifices made by front line caregivers during the most challenging time of their professional lives.

Hospital buildings were illuminated with teal-color lighting during the week of Nov. 15-19 to show public appreciation for those who care for us in our times of greatest need.

“These health care heroes, inside our hospitals and out in the community, have been working under very stressful conditions protecting our public health. We wanted to have a public show of support of their efforts. This is an opportunity to spread goodwill and positivity for health care workers and first responders,” explained Abrazo Health Market CEO Brian Elisco.

Elisco noted that even during the pandemic, emergencies happen, people get sick and need care, and babies don’t stop coming into the world.

"Our health care heroes are working in a challenging, yet a very rewarding field. They are essential to providing excellent patient care. We understand that health care is challenging job during these current times. Abrazo is committed to providing a supportive, safe environment for our patients, staff and providers,” he said.
