I am a core faculty member at Arizona Reynolds Program in Applied Geriatrics and at the Arizona Geriatric Education Center. I am also the director of the Phoenix-based Institute for Health Professions Education, a non-profit organization providing educational and related services to professionals, organizations and communities. A graduate of Columbia University, I received my Masters in Public Health in Chronic Disease, Adult Health and Aging from the University of Michigan where she also received her PhD in Gerontology.

I have many years of experience in creating and implementing programs and services for older adults. I also teach gerontology and geriatric care to medical students, residents, other health professionals and the community. My special research interests include the impact of culture and ethnicity on health and health care.

I work extensively with Indian tribes in Arizona as well as the Indian Health Service. I have been awarded a certificate of outstanding achievement by the Navajo tribe and a certificate of appreciation for outstanding contributions to the Indian people of Arizona from the Phoenix Area Indian Health Service. I regularly participate on national and local boards and committees and am a frequent speaker at meetings and conferences.
