Brian Hess, MD

Administration Curriculum Director

Brian Hess, MD, MBA, FACEP currently serves as the Regional Medical Director for Teamhealth. He works clinically at every Abrazo emergency department and serves as the current chair of Performance Improvement for Abrazo Scottsdale. He has nearly a decade of medical director and medical staff leadership experience. He has held many leadership positions including chair of Medicine to Chief of Staff, and various supporting committees. He received his BS from St. Louis University, his MD from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, completed residency in Emergency Medicine at Maricopa Medical Center and received a Healthcare focused Physician Executive MBA form the University of Tennessee. He has been a strong supporter of emergency medical systems honored by an AEMS Aces of Hearts Award in 2011 as a Base Station Medical Director for PMT ambulance. He has shown a strong commitment to both medical student education and advanced practice clinician education serving as preceptor for both Midwestern University and A.T. Still University during his tenure. Dr. Hess emphasizes the importance of shared decision-making amongst healthcare stakeholders and patient focused process improvement, honored for his efforts by the Operational Excellence Award in 2013 for his leadership in the emergency department.
