Mr. Stephen Harris returned to Arizona in December 2012 to become President/Chief Executive Officer for Arizona Heart Hospital.  He served as the CEO of Galichia Heart Hospital LLC from October 2006 to May 2013. Mr. Harris served as Chief Operating Officer of Cardiovascular Hospitals of America, Llc. Mr. Harris has 25 years of healthcare operational and financial management experience, with an emphasis in cardiology and CV surgery program development. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Michael Reese and United Medical Centers in the 1980's, spending from 1990-1995 as Senior Vice President of Mercy Healthcare Arizona. Mr. Harris was recruited by Straub in Honolulu and helped engineer their sale to PhyCor, before spending time in Asia helping to stabilize operations in Guam and Saipan. In the late 1990's, Mr. Harris has served as Chief Executive Officer of Iowa's only for-profit hospital, successfully re-starting a well respected open heart surgery program. Mr. Harris was awarded the U.S. Navy's American Spirit Honor Medal in 1968 and holds a B.A in Accounting and Business Administration from St. Ambrose College.
