Christopher Lipinski, MD

Research Director

Dr. Christopher Lipinski received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in 1995 and completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Pittsburgh.  In 1998, he was presented with the SAEM Academic Excellence Award which is presented by the Council of Residency Directors (CORD) to one graduating EM resident each year and recognizes outstanding academic achievement during training.  

Following EM training, Dr. Lipinski was selected by SmithKline Beecham pharmaceuticals/ACEP Emergency Medicine Foundation for a two year fellowship program in neuroscience research at Wayne State University.  At WSU, he took PhD courses in neurophysiology and was mentored by two pioneers in the area of brain resuscitation, Blaine White, MD and Gary Krause, MD.  

After completing his fellowship, Dr. Lipinski moved to Arizona to join the faculty at Maricopa Medical Center as Research Director (2000-03) and then moved on to Mayo Clinic Arizona (2003-2016) where he was an NIH funded scientist.  Dr. Lipinski has served as a mentor for nearly 20 pre-medical students, served on Doctoral dissertation committees at Arizona State University, and has published more than 100 scientific abstracts, book chapters, and peer reviewed manuscripts.  He  now joins the Emergency Medicine faculty as the Abrazo Heath Network Institutional Research Director
