My parents moved to California 35 years ago escaping the Lebanese civil war, and I was born and raised in a beautiful town on the outskirts of Silicon Valley. I come from a family that values education, and received all the support I needed to earn undergraduate degrees in biology and philosophy and a masters’ degree in public health where I focused on quality improvement and program evaluation.

After college I volunteered serving Guatemalan children experiencing chronic malnutrition, which prompted me to enroll at the Lebanese American University’s School of Medicine to pursue a career in healthcare. As part of my medical training I served a spectrum of patients at a half-dozen different primary care clinics, from the political elite to the poorest refugees in Beirut. This helped me better understand the economic and social gaps that must be addressed to create a just society--connecting to diverse families in the community confirmed that I wanted a specialty where I could develop a long-term relationship with my patients.

I am excited to be moving to Arizona to surround myself with an incredibly supportive group of faculty, staff and residents with whom I plan to work extremely hard to problem-solve for my patients while developing the full range of skills I will need to provide comprehensive primary care to families from birth into their golden years. When I am not pursuing my passion and calling of family medicine I divide my free time between meals with friends and family, movies, soccer, swimming, biking and gardening.
