We’re only as good as the ways in which we give back to the communities we serve. Great things happen every day in our hospitals – children born, lives saved, families gathering with their loved ones. In addition to what happens inside our hospital walls, we’re also an active member in the community. Many of our company directors and executive team members sit on various boards and volunteer their time to numerous causes including American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen, YMCA, Leadership Council and high schools. In addition, Abrazo Community Health Network continues to educate and provide healthcare information to its local community. Here are just a few of the ways we give back.
American Heart Association
Abrazo Community Health Network employees raised $94,629 for the American Heart Association’s 2016 Phoenix Heart Walk to fund research to fight against heart disease and stroke, the Number 1 and Number 5 causes of death.
As a result, Abrazo Community Health Network was the top fundraising company for the 23rdannual Phoenix Heart Walk which attracted 19,000 participants. More than 580 Abrazo employees were registered for the walk. Abrazo Community Health Network was also the Phoenix Heart Walk’s year-round cause sponsor, the largest sponsorship of the 2016 Phoenix Heart Walk, and Abrazo Central Campus was the Miracle Mile sponsor.
Each year, Abrazo also supports the American Heart Association at their annual Go Red for Women event.
Susan G. Komen, Race for the Cure
In an effort to raise awareness and fight against breast cancer, Abrazo employees, family and friends participate annually in the Komen Phoenix Race for the Cure by donating, walking, running and sleeping in for the cure. In addition, Abrazo has provided office space to the Susan G. Komen organization at Abrazo Central Campus.
