How does the Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber work?
Paradise Valley Hospital has two Sechrist monoplace chambers. Patients recline in the clear, acrylic chamber and breathe 100-percent oxygen. Patients can drink fluids and watch individual TV/movies during their treatment.
A specially trained staff member is in constant attendance outside the chamber. Patients are usually treated at 2-2.4 ATA (33-45 feet of seawater) for two hours. Typically patients are treated for 20 initial sessions and then re-evaluated, possibly needing up to 40 sessions total.
Our experience and commitment to comprehensive wound management and hyperbaric oxygen therapy has made Paradise Valley Hospital's Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine a recognized center in the management of patients with problem wounds
