• Arizona Heart Institute Physicians Awarded Aetna Aexcel-Designation

  Arizona Heart Institute physicians have been named by Aetna as top performers for specialties in general surgery, cardiology and vascular surgery. Aexcel® is a designation within Aetna’s Performance Network which identifies physicians in 12 specialties who have met certain clinical performance and efficiency standards.

  Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Arizona has designated Arrowhead Hospital in Glendale and West Valley Hospital in Goodyear as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement. Blue Distinction Centers for Knee and Hip Replacement are part of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association’s expansion of its Blue Distinction® designation.

Only 15% of hospitals nationwide received this year’s STS 3 star rating – the highest category of quality of cardiac surgery.
