NORTH PEORIA EMERGENCY CENTER NOW SEEING PATIENTS
Northwest Valley’s first stand-alone, full-service emergency center offers advanced medical care
GLENDALE (Dec. 10, 2010) – North Peoria Emergency Center, a campus of Arrowhead Hospital, opened today and is ready to care for people with emergency needs. North Peoria Emergency Center is located at 26900 N. Lake Pleasant Parkway in Peoria, and is a 14-bed full-service emergency department.
The unique facility offers 24-hour medical care and is staffed by board certified physicians and specialty nurses. Additionally, CT scans, ultrasound and other diagnostic imaging services are available along with an on-site laboratory. North Peoria Emergency Center is operated by Arrowhead Hospital, located just eight miles away in Glendale.
The concept of a stand-alone emergency center was designed to alleviate some of the tremendous need for emergency care in the North Valley, including highly populated outlying areas in communities like Vistancia, Surprise and the Lake Pleasant corridor. As an extension of Arrowhead Hospital, patients will experience a seamless integration of services and care between the hospital and the emergency center. Arrowhead Hospital will continue to provide emergency care in its 36-bed emergency room, designated as a Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, and a Primary Stroke Center by the American Stroke Association.
“We are extremely excited and proud to have officially opened North Peoria Emergency Center,” said Jon Bartlett, chief executive officer, Arrowhead Hospital. “As Peoria’s first hospital-based, 24 hour, 7 days a week emergency service, we will better meet the medical needs of those living or working in the rapidly growing Northwest Valley. We are looking forward to becoming the neighbor who all Peoria residents can count on when they are in need of medical care.”
A second emergency center in Buckeye is expected to open in the summer and will be operated as an extension of West Valley Hospital.
