You can avoid
sexually transmitted infections
entirely by abstinence or lifelong mutual monogamy. The risk from other sexual activity can be reduced by using
condoms.
You can prevent eye infections if your eyes are not touched by anything except washed hands.
Respiratory infections can be avoided by not exposing yourself to infected birds. You can prevent infection by avoiding such contact with birds or wearing a mask when around birds.
Newborn infections can be prevented by good prenatal care. This care will help to identify and treat the infection in the mother before birth.
