ARROWHEAD HOSPITAL AWARDED UNITEDHEALTH PREMIUM® TOTAL JOINT SPECIALTY CENTER DESIGNATION

Orthopedic program recognized as a leader in total joint replacement

GLENDALE (Nov. 23, 2010) – Arrowhead Hospital was recently named a UnitedHealth Premium® total joint specialty center for its joint replacement program. The hospital is recognized as one of only three hospitals in the state who received this designation.

To receive this designation, Arrowhead Hospital met extensive quality and outcomes criteria based on nationally recognized medical standards and expert advice. The criteria incorporate measurements of breadth and depth of care, staff experience, emergency care, quality and outcomes reporting.

UnitedHealthcare developed the UnitedHealth Premium total joint specialty center program to give its members information about, and access to, total joint hospitals meeting rigorous quality criteria. The designation is based on detailed information about specialized training, practice capabilities and outcomes and is designed to help members make informed decisions should they need total joint replacement care.

“We are proud to be recognized in partnership with our orthopedic surgeons as a leader in total joint replacement,” said Jon Bartlett, chief executive officer, Arrowhead Hospital. “This designation aligns with our commitment to providing excellent orthopedic care to our patients.”

The orthopedics program at Arrowhead Hospital features the latest in advanced diagnostic testing, state-of-the-art computer assisted navigation surgery, patient education, rehabilitation and support through the entire process, from evaluation through surgery and post-operative care.
