Preparing for your joint replacement surgery with the Orthopedic Institute at West Valley Hospital

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (January 5, 2010) – What can you expect each day of your hospitalization for your knee or hip replacement surgery? How will your pain be controlled? What will you be able to eat? How can physical therapy assist in your recovery? What is your expected recovery time after surgery?
If any of these questions have come to mind as you consider or plan for your joint replacement surgery, then The Orthopedic Institute at West Valley has the answers. With 116 years combined experience in orthopedics, our 14 physicians are dedicated to providing expertise, compassion and exceptional care to all prospective, current and future orthopedic patients.
Beginning Thursday, February 4, 2010, The Orthopedic Institute at West Valley Hospital will offer Total Joint Education Classes every first and third Thursday of each month. The Total Joint Education Class will occur from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the 2nd floor classroom of West Valley Hospital and will cover information you need on patient care, physical therapy, case management and pharmacy with time allotted for a question/answer session. Attendees will also receive a Total Joint Education Class binder with a variety of recommendations and educational materials to help you prepare pre- and post-operatively.
