Certified Primary Stroke Centers - Phoenix Baptist Hospital and West Valley Hospital designated by the Joint Commission as Certified Primary Stroke Centers. All other Abrazo hospitals will be certified by end of 2012.
Member of the Arizona Primary Stroke Center - Arrowhead Hospital designated as a Primary Stroke Center from the Phoenix Primary Stroke Center Initiative - Phoenix Coalition through the American Heart Association.
Get With The Guidelines Silver Plus Achievement Award by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. Phoenix Baptist Hospital received the award for demonstrating their commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that patients receive treatment according to national accepted standards and recommendations. To receive the Get With The Guidelines–Stroke Silver Plus Achievement Award, Phoenix Baptist Hospital consistently followed the treatment guidelines for the past 12 months.
Get With The Guidelines Bronze Achievement Award by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. West Valley Hospital received the Stroke Bronze Achievement Award for the past 90 days. These guidelines include aggressive use of medications, anticoagulation therapy, DVT prophylaxis, cholesterol reducing drugs, and smoking cessation.
