Phoenix Baptist Hospital, West Valley Hospital receive stroke quality awards

TWO ABRAZO HOSPITALS RECEIVE STROKE QUALITY AWARDS

Phoenix Baptist Hospital, West Valley Hospital recognized by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines – Silver and Bronze Awards

 

PHOENIX (Sept. 23, 2011) – The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association Get With The Guidelines Award recognized Phoenix Baptist Hospital with the silver award and West Valley Hospital with the bronze award for their commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that patients receive treatment according to national accepted standards and recommendations.

 

Patients who suffer a stroke are recommended to receive appropriate care within a very short amount of time. Phoenix Baptist Hospital and West Valley Hospital are fully equipped with board certified physicians and designated stroke teams, along with the latest technology to provide accurate diagnosis and create an effective treatment plan to achieve a positive outcome.

 

To receive the Get With The Guidelines–Stroke Silver Quality Achievement Award, Phoenix Baptist Hospital consistently followed the treatment guidelines for the past 12 months. West Valley Hospital received the Get With The Guidelines – Stroke Bronze Quality Achievement Award for the past 90 days. These guidelines include aggressive use of medications, anticoagulation therapy, DVT prophylaxis, cholesterol reducing drugs, and smoking cessation.
