I have taken a different path to becoming a physician than most of my colleagues. After high school I joined the Navy instead of immediately continuing on to college. By the time I retired from the Navy, I had enjoyed many varied life experiences that allowed me to appreciate the value of an education. I have worked hard for the opportunity to continue to pursue my dream of attending medical school.

I am drawn to the practice of rural medicine for the breadth of practice available in a rural setting. My wife and I intend to remain in Arizona after my residency. Our goal is to settle in one of the many rural settings available in this state that so desperately need a physician. One of the main things that drew me to Phoenix Baptist Hospital Family Medicine Residency program was the wide scope of their program.  With the excellent training provided through this program, I feel confident that after residency I will be able to go into practice in any rural setting equipped with a full toolbox of skills and knowledge.
