Why Abrazo?

The Phoenix Baptist Family Medicine Residency Program is a premier site for full spectrum family medicine education. Affiliated with the University of Arizona College of Medicine, we have been educating family physicians since 1978. We truly believe that a full spectrum family physician is the foundation of any healthcare system and is the ideal primary caregiver for any population. Since the start of our program, our mission has been to train well-rounded family physicians who:

  • have exposure to all areas of medicine, including business
  • provide quality patient-centered, evidence-based care
  • are an integral part of their surrounding community
  • serve as active members of the medical staff

Our emphasis is on educating family physicians who have the skills to work anywhere, in any setting (especially rural and medically underserved areas) and run the business if so desired.
