7/31/2014 12:00:00 AM

Glendale, AZ (July 30, 2014) – Abrazo Health celebrated the official opening of its new Arrowhead Hospital Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center (AHWHHC) with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and open house event on Wednesday, July 23, 2014.

Several members of the leadership teams at Abrazo, Arrowhead Hospital and Healogoics, Inc, as well as Glendale city officials and leading area physicians attended the grand opening ceremony. The Center, which is a specially designed outpatient center offering state-of-the-art, evidence-based wound healing treatments and a hyperbaric medicine program, began seeing its first patients on Monday, July 28, 2014.

“The Center will fill a much-needed void in the northwest Valley, offering specialized treatments to an underserved patient population suffering from acute and chronic wounds,” said Frank Molinaro, CEO, Arrowhead Hospital. “We are excited to have Michael Berman, D.O., as our Center’s Medical Director. Dr. Berman is a recognized expert on complex wound management. He will lead our team of specially trained physicians and staff in delivering cutting-edge treatments to our community.”

Arrowhead Hospital has entered into a partnership with Healogics, Inc., one of the nation’s largest providers of advanced wound care services, to help design and develop the Center. The Center’s experienced team of general, vascular and plastic surgeons; podiatrists; wound care specialists; nurses; and technicians will perform comprehensive wound assessments and employ a multidisciplinary approach to treating difficult and chronic wounds. Some of those clinically proven treatments and protocols include:

  • Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
  • Negative Pressure Therapies
  • Bioengineered Tissues
  • Biosynthetics

Likely candidates for hyperbaric treatment at the new Center are those suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, radiation injuries to soft tissue and bone, compromised skin grafts and flaps, and wounds that haven't healed within 30 days.

The Arrowhead Hospital Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center is located at Arrowhead Physician’s Plaza Building II at 18700 N. 64th Drive, Suite 312, Glendale, AZ 85308. If you’d like more information on the Center, please call (623) 561-7200.
