ABRAZO HEALTH CARE HIRES NEW VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES

PHOENIX (Nov. 15, 2012) – Abrazo Health Care announced today that Jimmy Duncan has been named vice president of human resources. Duncan brings more than 20 years of experience in human resource leadership to the Arizona healthcare network.

In his new role, Duncan will lead Abrazo’s HR team and draw on the management team’s talent areas to develop widespread HR practices that align with the healthcare network’s broad corporate goals.

Duncan has proven success and leadership excellence in diverse industries in both national and global markets of not only health care, but also energy, manufacturing and mining. Throughout his career, he has consistently raised bottom-line profits, revitalized work cultures and forged productive, enterprise-wide relationships.

Most recently, Duncan served as the vice president of human resources for Banner Health’s Western Region with accountability for 12 hospitals and primary care ambulatory facilities in seven states. In that role, Duncan drove a
positive employee relations strategy that effectively gauged and responded to risk areas. Additionally, he successfully executed a talent acquisition and development effort that reduced cost raised retention rates by improving hiring quality and delivered a requisite leadership talent pipeline.

Duncan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Southern Wesleyan University. He is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society of Human Resources management.
