For years, employees at Maryvale Hospital have donated gently used clothing and shoes to “The Maryvale Closet,” an internal collection that is available to patients who may be in need. One of the greatest requests if for shoes. The employees at Maryvale Hospital launched the first Maryvale Hospital Flip Flop Drive. In just one month, Hospital staff – including executives, physicians, nurses and administration -- collected more than 230 pairs of men’s and women’s flip flops in a variety of sizes, more than doubling the original goal of 100 pairs.

Two of the state’s largest hospital and health care organizations, Dignity Health and Vanguard Health Systems, which owns Abrazo Health Care, announced today the intention to create a joint Accountable Care Organization (ACO). This alliance will involve more than 700 physicians throughout Maricopa County. The ACO will support enhanced clinical collaboration and care improvements for Medicare patients living in the county.
