Peripheral artery disease
(PAD) is caused by
atherosclerosis, which is a progressive condition. The same lifestyle changes used to manage PAD are also effective tools to prevent it. The following practices may help prevent peripheral artery disease:
- Quitting smoking
- Eating a healthier diet

Controlling conditions that put you at risk for PAD, such as:
- Exercising regularly
