In 2003, five acute-care community hospitals in the Phoenix area joined forces to become what is known today as Abrazo Health. In October 2010, Arizona Heart Hospital, known for its distinct reputation as a premier cardiovascular specialty hospital, joined Abrazo Health. The six hospitals have a combined 1043 licensed beds.
